Town of Mt Pleasant
Regular Monthly Board meeting
Monday, October 18, 2010 at American Legion Hall, Monticello, WI
Meeting was called to order at 7:32pm by Sally Roe. Those present included, Sally Roe, Mike Gengler, Jerry Klassy, Marlis Silver and audience member Bob Zurfluh.
1. Minutes were reviewed from September 20th Public Hearing and September 20th Regular Board meeting. Mike Gengler moved to approve both minutes as presented, Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
2. Marlis gave the treasurer’s report. Mike moved to approve the report as given, Jerry seconded the motion. Motion carried.
3. No Public Comment
4. Sally moved to approve the 3 discontinuance documents for Pratt Road (the recordable resolution, Indemnification agreement with Kim & Joni Buehl and the Quit deed to Kim and Joni Buehl for the bridge) with the changes presented by Mike. Mike seconded the motion. Motion carried.
5. Sally moved to pay bills as presented. Mike seconded the motion. Motion carried.
6. No plan commission report
7. Bob Zurfluh gave the patrolman’s report. He reported a service call on the mower, breaker was needed on Dutch Hollow Road, and ditching work on Trumpy Road was done. The board advised him to hand seed some seeding in ditch along Trumpy Road. Board advised Bob to put up a cattle crossing sign on Witt Rd and put a tractor crossing sign on Feldt Road on both sides of old Feldt farm that Laverne Mahlkuch is currently renting for his cattle. John Zurfluh had mowed 20 times. Sally moved to approve paying John for 20 mowings at same rate as last year. Mike seconded. Motion carried. Gene Trumpy expressed interest in doing fencerow cleaning on Trumpy Road and wondered of Board would share cost. The Board will consider during winter months if County has discounted rates again. Board needs to look at fencerows and bridge on Trumpy Road together sometime. Trumpy Road will probably need gravel in spring. Bob reported service records from 1995 snowplow truck are mostly up-to-date. We will take the truck into Lakeside for fall service. Bob reported he will be working on gravel for shoulders, final mowing, and putting up snow fence.
8. The Board received a letter about Pfueti Road. The resident asked the board to consider blacktopping this road. The board decided it would be looked at in the spring.
9. 2011 budget was discussed.
10. Mike moved to approve refunding Northern Natural Gas their driveway permit and deposit since no driveway was installed. Jerry seconded the motion. Motion carried.
11. Sally moved to approve the New Glarus EMS contract for next year. Mike seconded the motion. Motion carried.
12. Board discussed fire and first response billing. Jerry and Sally will talk to Fire Board about this and try to get more information.
13. The next meeting will be November 15th at 7pm with the Budget Hearing, Special Town Meeting and then the Regular Board meeting.
14. Jerry moved to adjourn the meeting. Mike seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:48pm
