Members present: Chair Sally Roe, 1st Supervisor Mike Gengler, 2nd Supervisor Jerry Klassy, Treasurer Marlis Silver, and Clerk Susan Wetherington
Others present: Roger Zurfluh, Jim Meier, TJ Disch

Chairman Sally Roe opened the June 15th regular board meeting.
1. A motion was made by Mike Gengler and seconded by Jerry Klassy to approve the minutes of the May 18th meeting. Motion carried. Motion made by Jerry Klassy and seconded by Mike Gengler to approve the minutes from the Special Board meeting May 26. Motion carried.
2. Motion by Mike Gengler, second by Sally Roe to accept the Treasurer’s report. Motion Carried.
3. Bills were presented. Chairman Roe asked Susan Wetherington to check on the New Glarus EMS bill and contract. After examining the bills, Mike Gengler made a motion to pay the bills presented except for the Green County Highway department charge of $1,010.31, second by Jerry Klassy. Motion carried.
4. No public comments were presented.
5. Mike Gengler passed out copies of the plan commission meeting from June 8. He said the closed session was regarding legal advice.
6. No land divisions were presented.
7. Driveway permits: Robert Briggs driveway permit was presented complete. Mike Gengler moved to approve Briggs’ refund; Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Roger Rufer’s permit for his field drive on Cemetery Road improvements was presented. Mike Gengler motion to approve and Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Randall and Lisa Wiesner’s driveway permit for Oliver Road was presented. Drainage was discussed. The board will ask them to work with Patrolman Roger Zurfluh. Motion made by Jerry Klassy and seconded by Sally roe. Motion carried.
8. Patrolman’s report: Roger Zurfluh reported that he had filled a hole with gravel on Schneeburger Road and sprayed near bridges. Jim Meier has worked on the army truck and finds it is not running on one cylinder. He feels that truck has not been running right since the overhaul to the engine. He will continue to seek a solution or get prices for fixing parts he cannot fix. Patrolman Zurfluh has tickets from the blacktopping jobs and compared them as they were presented. Mike Gengler asked Roger to check the holes on Dutch hollow Road and also the grass growing in cracks to see if it needed spraying. Bridge signs and reflectors were installed on Krueger and Gilbertson Roads.
9. The board opened sealed bids for the roadwork needed on Schneeburger Road. Bids presented were: Green County Highway Department—NE end $17,515 and SE end $11,370; Disch Excavating—NE end $13,600 and SE end $10,200; Bartelt Enterprises—NE end $27,805 and SE end $14,943. The work outlined was reviewed to make sure each bid was equal. Mike Gengler moved to accept the Disch Excavating, with a note stating that the work would be done according to the advertised notice; Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried. Sally Roe asked the estimated start date and TJ Disch estimated the work would start the end of July or the first of August. He estimated it would take 3-4 days.
10. The board opened bids for the door and eaves for the town garage. Bids were received from Integra, and Pence. Mike Gengler moved to accept the bid from Integra for the 22-gauge door for $645 and the gutters for $583; Sally Roe seconded the motion. Motion carried.
11. Current roadwork includes work on Feldt, Purintin and Schneeburger with a culvert extension at Purintin and Schneeburger. Mike Zweifel has a 10ft. extension at Schneeburger and Purintin. Other work included Rechsteiner and Purintin and Feldt and Wittenwyler. Also culvert work and ditching was done at Muralt and at Rechsteiner at Purintin, which the property owner will pay for an additional 5 foot on the culvert. Roger Zurfluh wants to post hidden driveway signs at this location.
12. Postings on the town roads are complete in preparation for the bridge on Highway 69. Preconstruction meeting is set for Friday, June 19. Roe Farms submitted an overweight hauling permit for town roads while Highway 69 is closed. Mike Gengler moved to approve the permit; Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried, with Sally Roe abstaining.
13. The board looked at road sign hardware that Chair Sally Roe ordered for review. The town board asked Roger Zurfluh to create a road inventory of signs needed.
14. The delinquent personal property tax issue was tabled to the July meeting.
15. Fire District report: Jerry Klassy reported that sirens were replaced.
16. Mike Gengler said he would be attending the Zoning meeting on Frank Goodman’s conditional use permit on June 24.
17. Chair Sally Roe will advertise for bids for a town assessor, requesting bids for July 15 to be opened at the July 20th meeting. Susan Wetherington will also contact all assessors used by municipalities in the area.
18. Jerry Klassy suggested the purchase of a grader attachment for the mower. He will continue to get information, specs and prices for this.
19. Mike Gengler moved to adjourn the meeting; Sally Roe seconded the motion. Motion carried and meeting was adjourned.
