TOWN OF MT PLEASANT
NOTICE OF MONTHLY BOARD MEETING

Monday, January 17, 2011,
Immediately followed the Town of Mt Pleasant Caucus
American Legion Hall,
316 E. Coates Ave,
Monticello, WI.

Chair Sally Roe called the meeting to order at 8:05 pm.
1. Assessor’s Report—Craig updated board on the current state trends and the town’s assessment level.
2. Minutes from December Meeting—Mike Gengler made the motion to approve the December 13 minutes; Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
3. Treasurer’s report—Sally Roe made the motion to approve the treasurer’s report; Jerry Klassy seconded the motion. Motion carried.
4. Public Comment—Eric Henry asked question about the equipment set-aside budget item, which Sally Roe explained.
5. Payment of Bills—After examining the bills, Mike Gengler made the motion to pay the bills; Sally Roe seconded the motion. Motion carried.
6. Patrolman’s report—Bob Zurfluh reported that the V-plow needed minor repairs. He found a TV and sink at the recycling dumpsters and will take them to the landfill. He would like to know the amount of salt the trucks hold so that he can properly address concerns about salt amounts when they come up. Sally asked if the town wants to build a salt shed, which was discussed several years ago. No motion was made. The 95 truck has a chain and bearing repaired; the salter was repaired again. Bob said he hit a mailbox with the snowplow and is in the process of contacting the owner to help them repair it. The patrolmen are plowing and salting roads.
7. Update on Pratt Road Vacation status—Mike Gengler spoke to Sandra and the DNR will publish the notice. The process moving to an end.
8. Driveway Permit approvals, if any—Sally gave the Buehls the permit form they need to submit.
9. Land divisions, if any --None
10. Town’s Association District Meeting attendance—The board agreed to send two members to the Mineral Point meeting and one or two to the Whitewater meeting. Sally Roe made the motion, Mike Gengler seconded the motion. Motion carried.
11. Fire District summary—The meeting included basic bill paying; fireman’s appreciation dinner announcement. The fire billings will come more regularly and will be sent to Marlis directly. There were no billings in December for the Town of Mt Pleasant.
12. Any Other Business/announcements—Mike Gengler updated the board on the wind regulations. They were published at end of Doyle admin by Public Service Commission. They will become accepted March 31 unless removed. The Walker administration has made a new bill with changes that seems to protect the landowners. Mike Gengler has drafted an ordinance and will be sending it out. The Plan commission will review and then decide whether to present to the board and when. Sally Roe suggested that board members should come to plan commission meeting for discussing this in February. The town received a letter from Todd Jensen, Land Conservation office. The county needs to rewrite the Farmland Preservation plan and would like a person from town to be on the advisory committee on this issue. Sally Roe was appointed as the representative.

Motion to adjourn was made by Jerry Klassy; Mike Gengler seconded the motion. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned.
