Members present: Chair Sally Roe, 2nd Supervisor Jerry Klassy, Treasurer Marlis Silver, and Clerk Susan Wetherington
Others present: Roger Zurfluh
Chairman Sally Roe opened the August 17th regular board meeting at 7:40 PM.
1. Marlis Silver asked that the July minutes be changed in item 10 to say that the personal property issue would be reviewed again and placed on the tax bill if it was not paid by November 1, rather than December 1st. A motion was made by Sally Roe and seconded by Jerry Klassy to approve the minutes of the July 20th meeting with the above correction. Mike Gengler seconded the motion. Motion carried. Motion made by Jerry Klassy and seconded by Sally Roe to approve the treasurer’s report. Motion carried.
2. Bills were presented. After examining the bills, Mike Gengler made a motion to pay the bills presented, second by Jerry Klassy. Motion carried.
3. Public Comments: No public comments.
4. Assessor bids were discussed. Sally Roe made the motion to accept Craig Galhouse as the new town assessor, Mike Gengler seconded the motion. Motion carried. Sally said she would contact the assessors, thank them for their proposals and let them know the board’s decision.
5. Plan commission report: Mike Gengler reported that the plan commission discussed a possible legal issue. He said he would resend the memo he sent to the supervisors and asked that it be discussed at the September meeting.
6. Land Divisions: None.
7. Driveway permits: None.
8. Patrolman’s report: Roger Zurfluh reported he had sealed the garage roof and repaired some spots on it, worked with the roadwork crews, put up bridge markers, picked up the trucks, posted road closed signs, did mowing, and prepared the road sign report, including the supplies that we currently have. He also reported on work done or needing to be done at Feldt, Krueger, Silver, Oliver and Witt roads.
9. Current road projects were reviewed, especially the work on Krueger Road. There was concerned expressed that the board might have to drill their own test holes to determine the thickness of the road surfaces and make sure the new surfaces met town standards.
10. The board will look at permit road posting signs at the September meeting.
11. Sally Roe told the board she will order the needed road signs.
12. Fire District report was given. The district had an insurance presentation and paid bills. Marlis told the board she has not received any bills from the Fire District this year.
13. Sally Roe made a motion to go into Closed Session to discuss a matter under Wisconsin Statutes 19.85 1)e. Mike Gengler seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Board convened into closed session. After the closed session was adjourned, the board returned to open session.
14. Sally Roe made the motion to adjourn the regular town board meeting, seconded by Jerry Klassy. Motion carried and meeting was adjourned.
